What’s at Stake? Live Staking for Restoration
UTRCA alongside ReForest London, presents the unique opportunity to learn about the unique restoration technique of live staking.
Live staking can be considered one of the simplest forms of bioengineering for restorations. Using live cuttings from trees and inserting into wet ground this simple technique has the capability to bind unstable ground and prevent erosion.
In this hands-on workshop participants will learn about the technique including ideal plants for cuttings and site location considerations, then get their hands dirty and partake in collecting the stakes at Celebration Forest then Planting them at Dingman Creek.
This workshop involves travel between the two site locations, we encourage participants to carpool wherever possible to reduce the carbon footprint of this event.
